Colleagues
People Focused Systems

We focus on your people and involve them in the process of considering their own safety.

We talk to you and your workers about what you are trying to achieve and things you may need to consider to ensure it is done with minimal risk.

We take a look at your history relating to accidents, incidents and hazard reporting to consider your growth and direction moving forward.

A people focused system incorporates a behaviour-based peer observation and peer/management feedback process. The system enables workers to be actively involved in the work process while enabling visible upstream indicators of safety performance through the measurement of % safe and at-risk behaviours.

Employing a thorough investigation of the organisation’s workplace history relating to accidents, incidents and hazard reporting, a window on the safety culture of an organisation is measured. This is supported by a safety culture survey which gauges the perceptions of staff in relation to safety in the workplace, their participation in safety and wellness programs and the leadership and involvement of management in the safety management system.

Our simple observation system enables the organisation to involve peers in providing positive reinforcement for safe work behaviours while discouraging at-risk behaviours. A strong focus of our programs is the identification of system deficiencies which contribute to at-risk behaviour.

The analysis of observation data enables management to promote a high level of contribution and leadership to the safety system, enabling work groups to develop intervention strategies to eliminate barriers to safe work practices.

Systems

Gap analysis can determine the current status of safety management in your organisation. A comprehensive survey will assist your organisation to determine the focus of your system and the strategic plan for implementation.

Our systems are designed to achieve SafetyMAP or AS 4801 accreditation and can be written to reflect the legislation of the relevant state or a total approach across all Australian jurisdictions.

Our programs are designed to be self-supporting, while providing legal compliance through a simple system approach. Our staff are trained to support all staff to ensure safety is integrated into daily activities.

Positive performance indicators enable all procedures to be audited, while ensuring leading indicators become a focus towards best practice and safety excellence.

The emphasis of our programs is to empower workers to participate in the hazard identification processes, while enlisting the necessary support to ensure the sustainability of the program from the key stakeholder – management. Our behavioural programs assist organisations to identify critical areas of risk, enabling proactive strategies to be implemented, which are linked to sustainable procedures in the workplace.

Leadership Training

Business excellence is achieved through strong leadership. This can only be achieved by ensuring a commitment to safety that is measured and incorporated into the continuous improvement model.

Our Leadership program aims to coach those responsible for decision making in the Behavioural Safety Process through identification of areas on which to focus for best practice performance, while identifying barriers that exist in the workplace which prevent Management and employees from achieving these outcomes. In working with organisations the Leadership program focuses on:

  • Linking behaviour with consequences to improve productivity and business outcomes.

  • Mapping required business directions and identifying barriers which may occur due to previous consequences experienced by employees and management.

  • Creating behavioural inventories to ensure a path for successful outcomes is identified.

  • Coaching Leaders to “Lead” through an actively caring approach.

  • Specialised training in positive reinforcement to ensure all Leaders understand the “no blame” philosophy and the power of immediate positive feedback.

  • Identifying and understanding behavioural indicators which will lead to positive business advancement through an improved business and safety culture.

  • Early intervention strategies to identify at-risk behaviours so that intervention processes can be targeted to reduce the potential business impact and keep processes in line with the organisation’s mapped directions and behavioural inventories.

Successful businesses focus on the development of their leaders to provide strong business and safety direction, while ensuring the aims and objectives of the business are verifiable through achievement of targets and positive performance indicators. The Leadership program enables the organisation to enlist the behavioural process to drive change and progress through the business for successful outcomes.
